Men Style Tips Thirties and Forties.jpg

While there’s nothing wrong with keeping that youthful appeal from your twenties, stepping up your wardrobe to suit your age can have major benefits not just professionally, but personally as well. (Who doesn’t want a right swipe every time, amiright?)

Here are 12 style tips for men in their thirties, forties, and beyond.

1. Invest in a well-tailored suit. A custom bespoke suit makes all the difference. They are better quality, better fit, better fashion, and better money spent long-term.

2. Dark wash jeans. Fitted dark wash jeans will always look more elevated and sophisticated than light wash.

3. Look beyond jeans. Although it can be very tempting to reach for what’s familiar, now is the time to make chinos and fine-wool trousers your friends, too.

4. Pay attention to your fragrance. Look to different scents to help elevate your style and create an aura of accomplishment and refinement – yes, the right fragrance can do that! Some men’s colognes to try: L’homme by Prada, Acquadi Di Gio Profumo by Giorgio Armani, Ombré Leather by Tom Ford, Aventus by Creed.

5. Don’t overlook the outerwear. Every man should own at least three different styles of outerwear: a sporty one like a bomber, a sophisticated one like a leather jacket or trench, and a formal one like a wool pea coat. With three different outerwear pieces, you’ll have a jacket for any occasion.

6. Crisp white button-down shirt. This one is a must-have in any man’s wardrobe – for work, formal event, a date… the list goes on.

7. Crew neck sweater. Start with at least one well-fitted crew neck sweater in camel, grey, or charcoal. Wear with a collared shirt underneath and pair with dark wash jeans for a sophisticated polished-casual look.

8. V-neck sweater. Another classic to have in your arsenal of clothing. Wear with a collared shirt underneath. Don’t forget to tuck your shirt into your jeans, and to tuck the collar of the shirt into the sweater as well.

9. Lace-up dress shoe. It’s so easy to incorporate a nice dress shoe into your outfit, even with jeans. You will instantly look more distinguished and respectable.

10. A casual (but clean) shoe. If you are a sneaker guy, there are tons of elevated and tasteful fashion sneakers out there for you. Go for streamlined, classic, and simple. Driving mocs and loafers are another comfortable option.

11. Upgrade your eyewear. Glasses are the perfect opportunity to add interest, detail, and dimension to your face. Look at your eyewear as an accessory to show off your personality and enhance your face’s best qualities.
